{"id":1729,"date":"2025-10-06T16:14:31","date_gmt":"2025-10-06T07:14:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lmi.jp\/articles\/?page_id=1729"},"modified":"2025-10-06T16:15:02","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T07:15:02","slug":"1729-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lmi.jp\/articles\/1729-2\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Guidelines for Citing or Reproducing Materials from Other Academic Societies<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When <strong>reproducing<\/strong> a part of a scholarly journal or publication from another academic society, it is generally mandatory to obtain <strong>permission from the copyright holder.<\/strong> Even if the material is your own original work, if the copyright has been transferred, you must obtain permission from the new copyright holder (such as the society).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Copyright Act, however, includes a provision for <strong>&#8220;quotation&#8221; i<\/strong>n Article 32, which does not require the copyright holder&#8217;s permission. This is one of the <strong>&#8220;limitations on rights&#8221; <\/strong>provisions and is permitted only in specific, exceptional cases. If publishing rights have been established, permission from the <strong>publishing rights holder (usually the publisher)<\/strong> is also required.
